Privacy Policy – Clients

On May 25, 2018 the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect. In order to comply with GDPR  the following Privacy Policy  has been established below for British Academy of Rolfing® Structural Integration (BARSI).

This page applies solely to persons from the general public (clients) who agree to take part in Rolfing Sessions and or the Rolfing Process in the class setting of the Rolfing Training.

Why BARSI might contact you:

The British Academy of Rolfing® Structural Integration offers trainings in Rolfing in affiliation with the European Rolfing Association (ERA) and the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration (RISI).

If you have contacted BARSI to undergo Rolfing sessions or the Rolfing process in a class setting and under the supervision of the Rolf Institute Faculty (that is to be a client receiving Rolfing in class) we will only contact you to let you know about upcoming opportunities and scheduling to undergo a Rolfing session or the Rolfing Process in a class setting and under the supervision of the Rolf Institute Faculty.

Personal Data BARSI may collect about you, and your consent:

So that BARSI can continue to provide you with a safe and beneficial practice regarding the above, the details you provide to it (this is limited to: name, email, mobile phone number) are useful and necessary. It is important you provide your consent to BARSI to hold your personal data.

In the application process to becoming a client receiving Rolfing in class we will also ask you a few more questions regarding your age, health, accidents, medication and medical interventions.  These questions are to help us: a) evaluate your appropriateness to undergo a Rolfing session or process; b) look after your safety and well being in class.

Once in class and at the start of some of your sessions we may take four photographs of your — front, back and sides – to document your progress during the Rolfing process.

We will only share your data with the ERA as we are a subsidiary school licensed by the ERA.  The ERA is also undergoing a rigorous process in order to make itself GDPR compliant.  Both ERA and BARSI are committed to keeping your information safe and private.

BARSI and ERA will erase all health and photo data within two years of the end date of the training, which you were involved.  (see also “length of time” below)

BARSI will keep this data safe, secure and private at all times.  BARSI does not share your information with any third parties (see above regarding ERA), nor with anyone else.

Length of time BARSI will hold your personal data:

BARSI and ERA will erase all health and photo data within two years of the end date of the training, which you were involved.

As of 25 May 2018 BARSI will contact its “client receiving Rolfing in class” database every 7 years in order to allow you to refresh your consent for us to keep only names and emails so that we can contact you about further opportunities to undergo Rolfing in class.

How to withdraw your consent:

You may withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, please contact BARSI via email (enquiry@britishacademyofrolfing.co.uk) to request the deletion of all your data. BARSI will do so immediately upon receipt of your request.  If you simply wish to stop receiving notifications from us you can click the Unsubscribe link appearing on any of the newsletter emails you receive from BARSI.

Services used by BARSI:

BARSI uses MailChimp newsletter to contact you via email.
